Follow a Direction
The River Walk bridge offers an arch. The South Llano river bends between its banks. Dogwood stems branch through clusters of blossoms. Start with one of these directions and follow it slowly, noticing which details it brings into view.
A painting can offer several routes at once. A river may draw you toward the distance while a dark tree brings you back to the foreground. The experience is closer to wandering than to following a single instruction.
Notice the Frame
Look at what reaches the outer edge of the picture and what stays enclosed within it. A branch cut by the edge can suggest growth beyond the view. A doorway surrounded by stone can feel self contained. The gallery displays the complete scans so those relationships remain available to see.
Try a Second Route
After your first look, begin at another corner or choose a different color to follow. You may find a smaller rhythm inside the larger composition.
